Late last night I released a short blog update on the GFS forecasting a potential area of development. As it would seem the GFS has now dropped the system and no other models are forecasting tropical development throughout their forecasting period. However this was the 12Z run and there's a chance the 18Z will again show a tropical depression developing in the next 5-9 days. The latest wind shear forecast is showing an area of favorable upper-level winds will be present in the Western Caribbean in the coming days..SST's continue to warm also but at this point I wouldn't bet on tropical development, just be aware development is slightly possible. Right now the Eastern Pacific is firing up and development may be more likely there than in the Atlantic Basin...I will continue to monitor the computer models for signs of tropical development.
